iA Account & Privacy

This Privacy Notice describes how Information Architects AG, located at Rütistrasse 48, 8044 Gockhausen, Zürich, Switzerland (“iA”) uses, collects, and shares your personal data through iA Account (“Account”), iA Sharing (“Sharing”), and other services from iA (collectively the “Services”), or through iA Writer (“Writer”), iA Presenter (“Presenter”), and other apps from iA (collectively the “Apps”).

Your Account and all Apps and Services are designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. We work hard to collect only the data we need to make your experience better. When we do collect data, we believe it’s important for you to know what we’re collecting and why we need it, so you can make informed choices.

An Account is the personal account you use to access Apps and Services. Your Account includes the information you use to sign in, all the contact, payment, and security details. You can edit your Account information at https://account.ia.net.

When you sign in to Apps with your Account, you will be able to use services such as Sharing. Your Account information will be used with each service, which may generate analytics information that may be used to maintain and improve those services. Additionally, certain data from your device, for example the content you submit or make available through Sharing, will be sent to iA to store on your behalf.

Your sign-in information is shared across all our Apps on a device (or device user account if available) so that when you sign in to one App, you’ll automatically be signed in to our other Apps you choose to install and can begin using them quickly and easily.

Communicating With You

iA may use your Account email address to communicate important Account-related information, such as billing notifications, service alerts, announcements, and other messages necessary for maintaining your Account.

Retention

Where you make a payment, we retain personal data associated with your transaction for the periods specified by applicable laws relating to financial reporting, which vary by region. For most customers, that requires at least a 10-year retention period.

When you delete your Account, iA makes our best effort to delete all personal data associated with your account. However, we are required to retain past transaction information for financial reporting purposes, and we may be required to retain certain information to comply with a court settlement or other ongoing legal procedure. We also retain a one-way hash of the email address of the deleted account to comply with legal obligations, and for so long as necessary for the legitimate interests of demonstrating our compliance with data protection laws and for account security. This hash of your email address will be retained as evidence that iA complied with your deletion request.
