Negativity: Negative expressions like “A is not B” are often a form of subconscious denial. Negativity is one of the strongest indicators of secret motives. In delicate situations, iA staff are advised to pay maximum attention to their own as well as other people’s negations. Grammatically, negations are adverbs that one can detect with Syntax Highlight. A simple rephrasing will solve the issue. See also Adjectives. While grammatical negations are best avoided, a clear “No” may be necessary too.

Not just bad: Used to describe total failure. The full expression is “This is not just bad, it’s just simply nothing.” Derived from a legendary pre-iA era takedown: “Das ist nicht einfach nur schecht, das ist schlichtweg einfach nichts” which is one of the worst things you can say in German, a language not known for its subtlety or shyness.
