With the import function, a structured Markdown file from any other app can be converted into slides in Presenter. Add a few visuals, and your speech is almost done.
To import a .md
or .txt
file, from iA Writer or any text editor:
Importing options are selected by default to create your presentation faster, you are free to unselect them.
Presenter will use the structure of your text to cut down the content from your .md
file into slides. For example, a new slide will be created each time a title such as # Heading1
or ## Heading2
is recognized .
As explained in our app tutorial: “Regular text paragraphs are not visible to your audience. This is by design. Body text is your script.” Thus, paragraphs are converted automatically into Speaker Notes.
Local images included in a .md
or .txt
file are automatically added to the .iapresenter
file during import. If Presenter is not allowed to access these images directly, a pop up window will ask you to open those files. Note that the images have to be added with the usual Markdown syntax
. Images added with Content blocks are not yet supported.
