iA Writer for Mac and Windows can now be purchased directly from us. It’s all made easy thanks to our new account system.

License key management is a major pain point. For users and support teams alike, it’s a rusty hamster wheel. In late 2025 we launched iA Account to eliminate the need for license keys in iA apps.

Our goal is to bring iA Account to all our apps. We started with iA Presenter and are now adding Writer for Mac and Windows.

More Choice

For over 16 years, customers have asked for a way to buy iA apps outside the App Store. Some didn’t like App Store, some didn’t have access to it due to company policies. With direct sales it’s finally possible to use our apps both at home and at work.

Selling outside the App Store gives us and our users more flexibility. With iA Account you can now:

  • Buy iA Writer for Mac from via App Store or from us directly.
  • Access and extend add-on services like Web Sharing for iA Presenter.
  • Use Add-on Web based services like Web Sharing for iA Presenter.
  • Get educational discounts.

There are more things in the works on iA Accounts.1 As always, no ETAs.2 In spite of all the new shiny tools we have at our disposal in 2026, doing things right in Software still takes longer than expected.

How it works

When you buy from us directly, you’ll sign in using your email address and a six-digit one-time code. No more searching for license keys in email, password manager, or dealing with App Store ID shenanigans. No more emails to Support requesting resets and resends.

In addition to a smoother sign in process, iA Account allows you to consolidate and manage iA products in a single dashboard. This opens the door for better organizational support. We can’t wait to expand support to other platforms as well.
